Nous soutenons la formation bas\u00e9e sur la simulation pour la chirurgie manuelle de la cataracte par petite incision, \u00e9galement connue sous le nom de MSICS (Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery). La MSICS est une proc\u00e9dure efficace et rentable dont les r\u00e9sultats sont similaires \u00e0 ceux de la phaco\u00e9mulsification, qui est la chirurgie de la cataracte g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement pratiqu\u00e9e aux \u00c9tats-Unis et en Europe. La MSICS est mieux adapt\u00e9e aux pays en voie de d\u00e9veloppement o\u00f9 le co\u00fbt et l'approvisionnement limit\u00e9 en \u00e9lectricit\u00e9 et en \u00e9quipement m\u00e9dical doivent \u00eatre pris en compte.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Cette crise de la c\u00e9cit\u00e9 due \u00e0 la cataracte est due \u00e0 la p\u00e9nurie de chirurgiens de la cataracte. La formation s'attaque donc \u00e0 la racine du probl\u00e8me. Les fonds utilis\u00e9s pour soutenir les op\u00e9rations d'extraction de la cataracte ne peuvent traiter qu'un nombre fixe de personnes. Ces m\u00eames fonds, utilis\u00e9s pour former un sp\u00e9cialiste de la cataracte, permettront de r\u00e9aliser beaucoup plus d'op\u00e9rations de restauration de la vue. Nous voulons doter les communaut\u00e9s et leurs professionnels d'outils leur permettant de s'attaquer au probl\u00e8me de la c\u00e9cit\u00e9 due \u00e0 la cataracte aujourd'hui et demain. Notre mission, qui consiste \u00e0 r\u00e9soudre la crise mondiale de la c\u00e9cit\u00e9 due \u00e0 la cataracte, s'adresse aux personnes souffrant de cataractes graves dans les pays en d\u00e9veloppement.
