Almost every one of our medical partners has a story about their inspiration to become a cataract surgeon. For some, it was a course they took in school that sparked an interest. For others, it was a patient they met when they began their training and saw how a brief medical procedure could dramatically improve a patient\u2019s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Dr. Ranto\u2019s inspiration began with the latter. The patient however, was his father. The importance of eye care, for Dr. Ranto, literally began in his own home. Ranto\u2019s father lost his sight from a traumatic eye injury while Ranto was just in his teens. Doctors had to remove his injured eye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
